Simulation-Based Training / Chatham, Ontario
Focused. Practical. Yours.
Private Emergency Resuscitation Training is a customizable, one-on-one learning experience built around the realities of emergency medicine. Direct, hands-on coaching from an emergency physician using simulation equipment and procedural trainers, in a focused environment designed to push your performance forward.
"The emphasis is on helping clinicians improve how they think, perform, and respond under pressure. Clinical knowledge alone is not enough."
- Managing critically ill patients from first contact to disposition
- Performing high-risk procedures with precision and confidence
- Troubleshooting rapid deterioration in real time
- Leading resuscitations with clarity and authority
- Integrating technical skill with sound clinical judgment
- Building confidence under pressure that translates directly to your next shift
- Airway strategy, intubation, and post-intubation ventilator management
- Ultrasound-guided procedures and central venous access
Skills Training + Simulation. Together.
Every session combines two evidence-based approaches: deliberate procedural skill development and realistic simulation-based learning. You manage a crashing patient. Repeatedly. Until it is automatic.
Procedural Skills Training
Hands-on, coached repetition of the procedures that matter most in emergency medicine. Practiced on task trainers until the mechanics are second nature. Sessions are built around the specific skills you want to develop.
Examples include
- Awake intubation
- Difficult airway planning and surgical airway
- Blakemore tube insertion
- Chest tube insertion
- Pericardiocentesis
- Central venous and arterial access
- Ultrasound-guided procedures
- Post-intubation ventilator management
Simulation-Based Learning (RCDP)
Simulation scenarios are run using Rapid Cycle Deliberate Practice (RCDP), a method where scenarios are paused frequently, errors are corrected in real time, and the case is restarted immediately. This approach compresses learning, builds automaticity, and has strong evidence behind it in resuscitation training.
Traditional simulation runs a scenario once and debriefs at the end. RCDP interrupts the scenario the moment a gap is identified, corrects it immediately, and restarts. You get repeated, focused practice on the exact moment that matters. The result is faster skill acquisition and better retention under pressure.
Examples include
- Pediatric polytrauma
- Calcium channel blocker overdose
- Severe burn management
- Electrical storm
- SCAPE (sympathetic crashing acute pulmonary edema)
- Septic shock with rapid deterioration
- Traumatic arrest
- Difficult airway in the crashing patient
What Working With Us Looks Like
From first contact to follow-up, every step is designed to make the experience seamless and the training exceptional.
Needs Assessment
We start with a short virtual meeting to understand your goals, your clinical environment, and what you want to walk away with. This shapes everything that follows.
Session Design
Based on your goals, we design a session built around your priorities, selecting simulation cases, procedural stations, and clinical scenarios that reflect the realities of your practice.
Pre-Session Planning
We finalize logistics, confirm the case list and skills stations, and ensure everything is ready before you arrive. No surprises on the day.
Training Day
A focused, high-intensity day of simulation and skills training. You rotate through scenarios and procedural stations with immediate coaching and feedback throughout. The day is Mainpro+ Certified for 8 Assessment Credits and 8 Activity Credits.
Ongoing Mentorship
The relationship does not end on training day. Your package includes 4 virtual sessions over 3 months, each 45 minutes. Bring cases from your own practice, request targeted teaching on a topic, or use the time to consolidate what you learned. This is where the real integration happens.
Six Things That Set This Apart.
Standard CME offers limited hands-on time, large group formats, and content that rarely reflects the realities of your specific practice. This program is built on a different model entirely.
-
1Direct coaching from an emergency physician. A clinician who has managed the same cases you face, providing real-time feedback throughout the session.
-
2Simulation-based learning using RCDP. Scenarios that recreate the pressure, complexity, and ambiguity of real emergency care, with coaching built in at every step.
-
3Focused repetition on your specific gaps. The session is yours. If you need to run a scenario three times to get it right, you run it three times.
-
4A session built around your goals. Every case, every procedure, every scenario is selected based on the gaps and challenges you bring to the table.
-
5A private environment. Push your limits, make mistakes, and learn without an audience. The session is yours alone.
-
6Ongoing mentorship built into the package. Four follow-up sessions over three months to review real cases, consolidate learning, and keep the relationship going.
