Critical Ventilation:
Live Online

Intubation is only the beginning.

Cohort 2 Now Open — Registration Closes July 3

Staffing shortages, variable RT coverage, and ongoing bed block mean ventilated patients remain in the ED far longer than intended. In many rural and community hospitals, RT coverage is limited or unavailable, and ED teams manage ventilated patients for hours — and sometimes days. Critical Ventilation: Live Online provides a clear, ED-focused framework for mechanical ventilation, NIV, and HFNC management, combined with a three-part live webinar series designed for real-time decision-making under pressure.

Why we BUILT THIS PROGRAM

We built Critical Ventilation: Live Online because too many clinicians are put in impossible situations.

You are handed a ventilator, a crashing patient, and an expectation to know what to do, yet most of us were never properly taught how mechanical ventilation actually works in a way that translates to real bedside decisions.

It does not matter whether you work in a tertiary ICU or a small rural emergency department. At two in the morning, without a clear framework, the ventilator becomes a black box. That gap leads to hesitation, stress, and unnecessary risk.

Critical Ventilation: On Demand gives clinicians the structure and logic to manage ventilated patients safely and confidently. The Live Online program adds the missing piece: live reinforcement through real-time demonstration and case-based troubleshooting, so the knowledge becomes usable under pressure.

Our goal is simple: to make sure you never feel unprepared when you are the one standing at the bedside.

WHO IT’S FOR

This program is designed for clinicians who manage ventilated patients and need a clear framework that translates to frontline care, including:

  • Emergency Medicine physicians

  • Physicians working in community and rural hospitals

  • Clinicians who manage ventilation without immediate RT support

  • Clinicians responsible for both adult and pediatric respiratory failure decisions

ACCREDITATION AND CME

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Scimple Education, LLC and Dynamic Simulation. Scimple Education, LLC is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Live participation is required to earn the full 8 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Critical Ventilation: On Demand provides the enduring course content. The live webinars are required to claim full credit because this activity is designed to reinforce decision-making through real-time application and demonstration.

Recordings may be provided for review, but recordings do not replace live participation for claiming the full 8 credits.

what’s included

Participants receive immediate, 2-year access to our online course, Critical Ventilation: On Demand, upon registration, along with access to our live, 2-hour monthly webinar series provided over each 3 cohort.

These two components are designed to work together.

The on-demand course builds the core framework for ED ventilator, NIV, and HFNC management at your own pace.

The live online sessions then build on that foundation, reinforcing key concepts through real ED cases, troubleshooting, and applied decision-making.

Learners complete sections of the on-demand material first, then deepen and consolidate that knowledge during the live sessions.

COURSE MODULES:

ON-DEMAND TESTIMONIALS

  • "Wonderful course for rural ED physicians! Great videos and helpful demonstrations. Will certainly review this course periodically to keep knowledge up to date and recommend to colleagues”

    Dr. Kristin Johannessen
    Afton, wyoming

  • "This ventilator course has been fantastic for my learning as a rural ER doc, where I don’t use the vent very often. The concepts are explained clearly and practically, with excellent real-world examples that make decision-making much easier in those infrequent but high-stakes situations. I especially loved the videos — they’re engaging, easy to follow, and make reviewing key points simple. Overall, this course has really boosted my confidence and skills with ventilator management."

    Dr. Tamra Steinmann

  • Very helpful introduction to NIV and the ventilator. Clearly outlines key issues in different clinical scenarios such as asthma, metabolic acidosis and COPD and how to avoid pitfalls/better support the patient using NIV and the ventilator when necessary

    Dr. Rebekah Shoop
    Cambridge, Ontario

LIVE WEBINAR SERIES
